About 'Flowers of the Field' |

Flowers of The Field, situated amongst stunning scenery in the heart of rural Herefordshire, started in 1990 as a bet. My husband Tom is an excellent vegetable grower and between us we purchased a 40ft tunnel. I grew bedding plants and Tom grew early runner beans. The bet was that I could get my half of the tunnel to pay itself before Tom’s. My flowers won the day (partly because he sold his veg in the local pub and consumed the profit!)
I then grew chrysants for cut flowers and from then on the business “blossomed”. I now have four greenhouses where I grow most of the flowers for cutting. We specialise in freesias, oriental lilies, chrysants and stocks for cutting, as well as seasonal flowers which are grown outside such as Pinks, Gladioli etc.
We reclaimed part of the orchard and moved things around so that we could have a dedicated area for shrubs, trees and perennials.
Our aim is to provide the very best quality flowers and a friendly, personal service. Visitors to the nursery are very welcome, whether it is to purchase flowers and plants or just to look around.
